Indication interview
Panoráma Polyclinic offers an exceptionally wide range of mental health services—from psychological counselling, individual and group psychotherapy, and various supportive therapies through to psychiatric medical care with medication. Our specialists bring diverse areas of expertise, competencies, and strengths.
How to begin
All forms of therapy share one essential requirement: they must be based on an accurate and well-founded diagnosis. A key tool in this process—a kind of starting point—is the comprehensive initial assessment. This allows the patient and the assessing physician-psychotherapist to decide together which path is likely to be the most effective for addressing the patient’s mental health difficulties or illness. An indication interview is always a worthwhile investment: by setting the right course from the beginning, it prevents unnecessary “wandering” within the healthcare system and shortens the journey towards recovery.
At Panoráma Polyclinic, patients attending an indication interview are welcomed by our senior colleagues, who have in-depth expertise in psychotherapy, psychiatry, and somatic medicine, and who are also highly familiar with the clinic’s wide range of therapeutic and psychiatric approaches. Currently, English-language indication interviews are carried out by Dr András Spányik.
Appointments for an indication interview can be booked directly with the available specialists via our online booking system. Alternatively, you may request an appointment by completing the form available under “Book an Appointment,” or by contacting our mental health coordinator at pszi@panoramaklinika.hu, or on +36 70 579 6500, where your questions will also be answered.

What happens at the indication interview?
During the indication interview, the patient has a thorough conversation with the assessing specialist, covering details of their life and difficulties. The assessment also considers whether the symptoms may be caused by a physical condition—for example, an underactive or overactive thyroid can lead to mood disturbances or panic symptoms. In such cases, we initiate a somatic examination either within our clinic or elsewhere. For this reason, patients are asked to bring along the results of any previous specialist assessments and hospital discharge reports.
Once physical causes have been excluded, the interview assesses whether Panoráma is the right choice for you, and together we develop a personalised treatment plan.
A 45-minute session is usually sufficient for the initial interview. If you and the specialist agree on a follow-up session or the administration of psychological tests, these will incur an additional fee. Please note that test evaluation may take longer; in such cases, you will be informed of the results and therapeutic recommendations by phone or email.
In summary
The indication interview establishes the framework for safe and personalised therapy and provides a treatment plan. At the same time, it gives you an opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of your mental health and of the way our clinic works and the options available.
The current fee for the initial indication interview can be found in our up-to-date price list.
