Manual therapy is a set of manual diagnostic and healing procedures, focusing on the reversible changes related to the musculoskeletal system. The position of the bones of the human body, the condition of the joints and the muscular system, the quality of the control of the nervous system are evaluated and treated with special touches.
During a manual therapy process, the patient’s musculoskeletal medical history is taken, taking into consideration the diagnosis made by the specialist and the results of the findings as well. Completing a posture and movement test, we make a functional diagnosis, on the basis of which we elaborate an individualized treatment plan.
From the finest muscle energy techniques to dynamic contact procedures, we select the intensity of treatment on a wide range in accordance with the patient’s complaints (e.g. spinal hernia, osteoporosis, underlying rheumatic disease), his/her age or the root of the dysfunction (neuromuscular, fascial, articular, neurological). After the therapy, the patient gets mobilizing, stretching and stabilizing gymnastic exercises to maintain and improve the condition already achieved.
The average therapy time is 45 minutes.
Practicing manual therapy is subject to a university degree. It can be applied independently or in addition to a medical treatment, either in case of acute or in chronic pains.
Our manual threrapist is Gyula Szigetvári.
