In addition to participating in the work of the paediatric ADHD team, Dr Mónika Baracskai deals with the treatment of child psychiatric problems (e.g. OCD, startle control disorder, sleep disorders, tics, anxiety) associated with neurodevelopmental disorders.

She graduated summa cum laude from the Semmelweis University of Medicine in 2002. She completed her training in infant and paediatric medicine at the Petz Aladár Training County Hospital in Győr, where she worked from 2002 to 2007. It was during this time that she became interested in child psychiatry. She completed her training in child and adolescent psychiatry in Sweden. Since 2013, she has been head of department at the NU-sjukvården Child Psychiatry Clinic in Vänersborg, where she has gained extensive professional experience in the diagnosis and multimodal treatment of various child psychiatric disorders. Here, her interests have increasingly focused on neurodevelopmental disorders (resulting from the different development of the nervous system). In 2016, she got the opportunity to work at the neuropsychiatry department of the Borås Child Psychiatry Clinic, where she was the head of the team for six years, investigating autism spectrum disorder and the associated psychiatric disorders, and then until 2024 the head physician of the ADHD team.

In addition to her activities in Sweden, she has continuously participated in professional further training courses and child psychiatry congresses in Hungary and abroad. From 2021 she will attend the training of complex integrative child psychotherapy at the Hungarian Association for Complex Psychotherapy (MAKOMP).

She participates in the work of the paediatric ADHD team at Panoráma Polyclinic. For children with diagnosed autism spectrum disorder, as part of the child psychiatric examination, she can make recommendations for therapies and developments based on autism-specific methodology, which can be provided in specialised healthcare facilities. (At the moment, the polyclinic does not have the possibility to diagnose autism spectrum disorder!)
