Basic tests for those arriving for their first psychiatric examination

For the first psychiatric assessment, you will need to undergo basic tests - a set of specific laboratory diagnostic tests and an ECG. These tests are prescribed by the adult psychiatric protocol of Panoráma Polyclinic, in accordance with professional standards, for the sake of the patients’ health.

If the patient has an ECG and laboratory test results that are no more than six months old, the polyclinic will request - and accept - these before the first psychiatric examination. It should also be checked that the laboratory tests are complete. If a recent ECG and lab are not available, we can perform these tests in our clinic. It is preferable if the findings are already available at the first examination. In individual cases, the specialist psychiatrist may, on the basis of professional reasons, modify the scope of tests requested or waive certain basic tests at his or her discretion.

Therapies

If the underlying cause of the symptoms is a psychiatric illness, a joint decision is made with the patient - and, if appropriate, with a relative - about therapy which may be medication or other forms of psychiatric treatment. Our approach focuses on psychotherapeutic treatments.

ADHD

At Panoráma Polyclinic, ADHD diagnosis and treatment are also available for adult patients. For an accurate diagnosis, the examination is based on international standards and professional protocols. During the diagnostic procedure, in addition to the psychiatric examination, somatic medical examination, questionnaire survey and clinical psychological test are carried out to help separate the symptoms of ADHD from other conditions showing similar symptoms and to provide a more accurate picture of the severity of ADHD. The somatic doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists working in our clinic have been working in close professional cooperation for many years and have experience in teamwork.
