Dr Árpád Patai

Gastroenterologist, internist, obesitologist

Our gastroenterology practice is located at Derkovits Street 7, 1126 Budapest (12th district).

In our gastroenterology outpatient practice, we carry out the investigation and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.  Among others, the following procedures are performed in our specialised treatment room with modern, state-of-the-art technical equipment:

  • endoscopic diagnostic procedures: gastroscopy,
  • colonoscopy.

Endoscopic procedures are also performed in our practice under general anesthesia.

What the gastroenterology outpatient clinic deals with:

  • diseases of the liver, pancreas and bile ducts,
  • reflux disease,
  • stomach and duodenal ulcers,
  • Helicobacter pylori infection, its examination and treatment,
  • lactose intolerance testing,
  • testing for gluten sensitivity (celiac disease),
  • inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease),
  • cancerous lesions, cancer screening, cancer prevention,
  • and obesity (obesitology).

The condition of our digestive organs determines the functioning of our body.  The so-called gut microbiome of our intestinal system – e.g. intestinal bacteria, viruses – interacts with our cells in complex ways. This influence also affects the condition of our immune system. At the same time, the health of our immune system also affects our physical fitness, mental performance and mental balance.
