Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is diagnosed when someone lives with depression but does not experience the hoped-for improvement from standard medication or other therapies, with symptoms persisting despite treatment or showing little meaningful relief.

Around 20 to 30 % of people with depression are affected by TRD. It is more common among those with long-standing depression, recurrent depressive episodes, or depression accompanied by other psychiatric conditions—such as anxiety, personality disorders, or substance use—as well as chronic physical illnesses.

Our TRD Outpatient Clinic was established specifically for these patients, serving as both a diagnostic and therapeutic centre. Comprehensive assessment, fine-tuning of treatment recommendations, and the use of an innovative yet evidence-based and safe method—esketamine therapy—may provide an effective and sustainable solution.

Assessments and treatments, delivered in an outpatient setting, take place at Panoráma’s Buda clinic, with care provided by consultant psychiatrists who are recognised experts in the field. At Panoráma’s TRD Clinic, patients are seen by Dr Balázs Fockter and Dr Konrád Kenedli following prior appointment.
